The 61st Venice Biennale – Estonian Pavilion

“The House of Leaking Sky” is the Estonian Pavilion  exhibition created by artist Merike Estna and curated by Natalia Sielewicz. Set within a former church that now serves as a community centre, the exhibition brings together the sacred and the everyday, the historical and the contemporary. Beneath the frescoed ceiling lies a floor installation composed of 25,000 ceramic tiles, painted by the artist and woven with myths, symbols and personal visual references. Throughout the Biennale, Merike Estna continues to paint on site, transforming the act of painting into a public and evolving performance.

Each tile is individually numbered, and once the Biennale concludes, the installation will be carefully dismantled and relocated, allowing the work to continue its life in a new setting. Vivarec is proud to support this remarkable international art project.

The Estonian Pavilion is open from 9 May to 22 November 2026.
